2018 Tech Trends

2018_Bulb_thumbNow we are well into January and the nights starting to get lighter, we can look forward at the technological trends that will be coming into play over 2018.

Personally I've always been sceptical when seeing 'in an ever changing world' style statements in Tech Specifications, but it's probably not hyperbole to say that today Technology is now changing our world.

This comes with huge positives to the way we live, work and socialise; but also negatives, the influence of mobile and the 'always on' culture can be damaging and promote addiction to new information and over-perfection.

But at the same time we have a wealth of information and experiences available to us that previous generations could only dream about.

Technology is an enabler for both the best and worse sides to our character, and this is also true for our society and how it functions.

For us we see the opportunity for SMEs in this age of technology, as when used well, technology is the great leveller - if you have a great product then the barriers to markets have steadily been falling away + we have access to tools and solutions that previously used to only be the preserve of big business and big projects.

When we look at how a small business can buy-in an impressive technology stack via the cloud at an easy-in easy-out pricing model, this allows businesses to benefit from technology as their business grows, and compete on a more level playing field against the bigger more well established companies that might have a worse product or idea.

In this we see the democratisation of the technology that can new generations of entrepreneurs and company owners get the best from their business.

For some this might be increased freedom for them and their staff to run business from anywhere, for others this might be growing the business to higher revenues and profits.

In this technology can not just be a disruptor, but more of an enabler of how we want to do business today and how this fits with our non-business lives.

Our job at CRMCS? I want to see us help businesses grow this can-do culture underpinned by the right use of technology to achieve their goals - to see companies such as ours help connect business with the right tools from the 'big platforms' coupled with smaller dedicated Apps to get the right functionality and processes in place, coupled with service to help us all keep pace of that 'changing world' in a way that works for all of us.
