The recently introduced Microsoft Teams Live Events for Dynamics 365 Marketing, opens up new collaboration opportunities, for delivering online streaming events. You can engage and analyse participant actions, pre, during and post-event, using real-time analytics, from within Teams.
Here’s the CRMCS quick-start guide to help you correctly configure a new Teams Live Event for your business.
STEP 1:
If you have the latest release of Dynamics for Marketing installed, then you should see a “Stream This Event Online” section in the top right of the form. Switching this to ‘Yes’ will create the Event as a Teams Live Event.

STEP 2:
The owner of the Event is what is known as the ‘Organiser’. The Organiser has to manage the Event from within Dynamics therefore adding all the Producers and Speakers.

STEP 3:
Each Event will need a ‘Producer’ as these are the people who can start and stop the Event. They also manage the Speakers and what appears on the attendee’s screen.
To add a Producer the Organiser needs to navigate to the Additional information Tab and click Add Existing Event Team member'

STEP 4:
When creating a new Event Team Member you have to select either a User or a Contact. Anyone can be a Producer if they have access to the Windows App for Teams. You can add as many Producers as you like but a Producer cannot also be a Speaker.
STEP 5:
To add a Speaker to your Event you need to navigate to the “Agenda” tab and add a Speaker Engagement record.
STEP 6:
The Speaker record has to be a Contact. Speaker records and Producer records can be reused so you only need to create these record types once for each person.
STEP 7:
When you have created you Event with your Speakers and Producers then you are ready to make the Event Live.
When it comes to actually launching the Event everyone accesses the Event using the Attendee URL
STEP 8:
If you are a Producer of the Teams Live Event then following this link will take you to a Teams Meeting, where you are able to join as a Producer.

STEP 9:
Hitting Join Now will take you to Producer screen where you are able to share content and start the Event.
Attendees will be held at a waiting screen until the Event has started.
