DocDrive365 Day Four: Renaming Document Locations

One problem that could often occur with Dynamics to SharePoint integration is where a Record in Dynamics would be renamed, and this would leave the Folder or Document Library in SharePoint with a now out of date name.

DocDrive resolves this problem by picking up on any changes in Dynamics that should be reflected in SharePoint.

We can see this in action immediately after we have added DocDrive365 to a Tenant – so if we pick up on any Account record in Dynamics, and update the [Account Name] field:

We can click SAVE and this will change the corresponding Folder for the Account in SharePoint, or Document Library or Site if configured that way.

For performance this is done asynchronously from Dynamics to SharePoint, and so will take 2 to 4 seconds.  But after saving and then refreshing the Account Record in Dynamics, we can click LOCATION and see the updated folder in SharePoint.

Whilst simple – this ability for Dynamics and SharePoint to be automatically kept in synch with each other can be very helpful to keep our data working in a predictable fashion.
