Looping in Xperido

Xperido allows us to build complex Document Templates that can then be produced directly from Dynamics CRM, either manually or via Workflow saving into SharePoint.  As part of defining the format of each Template, we can include Data Field Mappings from multiple Entities and this can often include Loops to repeat a Table or List for a series of records.

This article concerns how we add a Loop into an Xperido Template to build a table that repeats rows for a 1:N Relationship in CRM.

The first step is to find the 1:N Relationship in CRM that we want to create a Loop for.

This will be shown in the DataSource area of Xperido with the CRM Database Name of the Relationship:

Select the Table - We select the area of the page we want to loop – this will typically be clicking the Table Selection Icon to select the entire Table in Word, as effectively we want to repeat the Table Row for each record in the 1:N Relationship.

Select the Relationship – we then select the relationship we want to loop on.

Click Loop – this completes the operation to define that we want to loop the selected table by the selected relationship.

Once the Loop has been created, we can then see this defined in the Mappings area of Xperido:

We can then define a Condition to specify which records we want to include in our loop, this may be everything and so no condition is required, but more often than not we will only want certain records from the 1:N list to be included in our template, and our way to achieve this is to add a ‘Start If..’ Condition.
